Housing Stability AnD Eviction Diversion (HSED) Agencies

On December 27th, 2020, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 was signed into law.  The Act provides U.S. Treasury funding to the State of Missouri, administered by the Missouri Housing Development Commission (MHDC) to provide financial assistance to eligible households unable to pay rent and utilities due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The State of Missouri has used Program funds to establish the State Assistance for Housing Relief (SAFHR) and Housing Stability and Eviction Diversion (HSED) programs in order to disburse Program funds statewide.  At this time, MHDC is no longer accepting new applications for the Housing Stability and Eviction Diversion program.  New applications for this program are expected to re-open in the fall of 2022, and all updates will be posted here.

Apply to the Mortgage Assistance Counselor (MAC) Program

HSEDs are already working across the state to help renters with their SAFHR applications.  With the launch of the SAFHR for Homeowners program on March 1, 2022, MHDC is also seeking Mortgage Assistance Counseling Agencies to help prevent homeowner mortgage delinquencies, defaults, foreclosures, and displacements of homeowners experiencing hardships since January 2020.

Applications for funding are being accepted on a rolling basis, and will continue until all funds have been awarded.  The application is available below.

HUD-certified Housing Counseling Agencies, or Legal Aid Agencies, should read more in the below document.

Help Us Spread the Word about SAFHR

MHDC is running a statewide advertising campaign to raise awareness of the SAFHR programs.  But, you can help spread the word locally in the communities you serve, while raising awareness about your own organization.

We've made our logos, brochures, and videos available, along with SAFHR's branding guidelines.  In addition, in our Marketing Kit, you'll find designs for materials you can print and distribute in your communities, such as door hang-tags, posters, brochures, and even billboard designs.  We are happy to help you customize these materials with your logo or make other modifications you may need.

If you have trouble accessing the kit, or need help customizing the materials, please email  our marketing partner 2Novas at info@2novas.com for assistance.
